Helping patients improve their health is any physician's dream. Helping patients lose weight in today's environment is particularly challenging. Today's technology has reduced the demand for daily calorie burning activities… and food portion sizes are now larger than ever before. In today's society it is very difficult to maintain our weight, let alone lose weight!

  • Our goal is to help our patients achieve their weight loss goal… and STAY THERE!! This involves educating our patients about what it takes to lose weight and to keep it off. We emphasize the importance of a weight maintenance program following the weight loss phase to incorporate the healthy habits and strategies necessary for lifelong weight control.
  • Many people have lost weight… only to regain it back over time. Weight loss is sustainable only if accompanied by long-term lifestyle changes. Helping patients understand their strengths and weaknesses is crucial to long-term weight management success. Our experienced team of dietitians, medical providers, nurses, and medical assistants are dedicated to helping people develop and maintain new healthy lifestyles that become their foundation for long-term health and wellness.
  • Our dietitians and physicians have experience in helping people lose weight over the long term. Dr. Hasson served as the Medical Director at the UC Irvine Weight Management Program for over 15 years. Our experience has led us to one basic truth: Without lifestyle changes, temporary efforts result in temporary weight loss.
  • Dramatic health benefits can occur with as little as a 5% to 10% weight loss. With sustained lifestyle changes, over the years we have seen significant improvements in the quality of life for people who lose weight and then maintain a realistic goal weight.

Center Programs

Full Meal Replacement

This program is typically the most popular for two reasons. A meal replacement program results in the most rapid weight loss and is very structured (taking away a lot of decision making of during weight loss). It provides balanced nutrition with as low as 800 calories per day. It is generally for people who have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 and no other risk factors for heart disease or 27 or more for people who have diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or sleep apnea. This program uses only shakes, bars, or soups and has many calorie options including 800-820, 960-980, 1120-1140, 1280-1300, or 1500. Click here to calculate your BMI.

Partial Meal Replacement

This program uses meal replacement products like shakes, bars, and soups while also allowing the use of other foods like fruits, vegetables, and lean protein sources. This program will have a higher calorie level than a full meal replacement program.

Long Term Weight Management

Losing weight is only the first step toward a healthier lifestyle. Keeping weight off is at least as challenging as taking it off. This program encourages and supports important new behaviors into their lifestyle to enable them to keep their weight off.

Why Meal Replacements?

Meal replacements are portion controlled, low-calorie density, prepared food that is used as a meal or snack. Meal replacements are not just liquids. In addition to shakes and soups there are snack bars, and frozen meals/entrees. A four-year study found that people who used meal replacements both lost more weight than people given dietary advice and were able to maintain their weight loss during the 4 years of the study.* Meal replacements provide portion and calorie control along with structured eating. OPTIFAST products were developed in 1974 by Sandoz Nutrition to provide adequate nutrition during weight loss. Staff

Dr. Morris Hasson, MD.

Dr Hasson is a board certified internist. He has extensive experience in the field of weight loss. He was the Medical Director of the UC Irvine Weight Management Program for over 15 years. Dr. Hasson along with a team of dedicated professionals have helped thousands of people manage their weight and improve their health. Dr. Hasson feels strongly that weight loss plays a central role in good preventive medicine.

Kathleen Doble, LVN

Kathleen has had a long and fulfilling career as a nurse dedicated to the optimum health and welfare of her patients. Kathleen has had many years of experience in Hospital nursing, Surgical Clinics, Family Practice Medicine and even as a Charge Nurse in a Convent taking care of retired nuns! Kathleen's goal is to make every patient feel special and that they have her undivided attention regarding their individual health needs. A longtime resident of San Clemente, Kathleen is married, has two grown children and two beloved grandsons! Kathleen spends her free time with family, walking the beach, gardening, cooking, traveling, and is a devoted student of Tai Chi.

Jeri O'Brien, Medical Assistant

Jeri has been with the practice since early 2014, and has been a medical assistant for over a decade. She has experience in Internal Medicine, Dermatology, and Geriatrics. When not at work, Jeri volunteer's with Coastal German Shepherd Rescue here in Orange County. She lives in Laguna Niguel with her two German Shepherds, Moose & Roo

Sheri Normann MS RD

Sheri is a Registered Dietitian with a Master's Degree in Nutrition. She has over 20 year's experience helping people in southern California to reach their nutrition and fitness goals. Sheri's extensive experience as the Optifast Program Director and group leader at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital for over 10 year's helped her develop a motivational and supportive counseling style. She looks forward to assisting our client's by acting as their coach: guiding, educating and motivating them through our Optifast program.

Ana Johnson, MS,RD

Ana is a Registered Dietitian with a Masters in clinical nutrition, a Certified Diabetes Educator and holds a degree in psychology from UCLA. She has extensive experience in weight management, diabetes care, and various aspects of clinical nutrition. She is passionate about providing our clients with tools and support to help them identify habits that are preventing them from living the healthy and fulfilling life they truly want.
